Hello all. I have a 1989 Austin Mini Mayfair that has just squeeked passed its MOT but the mechanic says the subframe wont last till next year.
Does anyone have an idea how much this will cost?

It depends if you are doing it yourself or getting a garage to do it..
basic costs for parts though
Subframes range from around £150 - £250 depending whether you go for genuine or reproduction
Throw into that the cost of a fitting kit, which I think is around £20
It is possible to pick them up 2nd hand, we got a good one off ebay for £10, but obviously buying with out seeing is a risk.
I couldn't really have to much of a guess at garage labour but I wouldn't be suprised at £200 or more.
