that is definitely NOT a 1974 mini.
most of your interior trim is from a 1989 mini 30 and the shell is possibly from that time as well. but the way its put together looks fine
do you have a VIN number stamped in the gutter down here....

After seeing your pictures of the car, I am certain, 100 percent, that your car is a Japanese spec Mini Mayfair II. I can say for sure because my car has exactly the same trim as your car. It has the half leather seats with leather bound steering wheel and red carpets (first found service on the Mini 30 LE), fitted as standard for the Japanese Mini Mayfair II. It has got the factory fitted air conditioner (Yes, they do fit them like that...
) with factory fitted dashboard, and also 3 dials.
So, to answer your question: Your car is definitely a (at least) 1990 Japanese spec Mini Mayfair II, but has been registered with a 1974 papers. It's not a half-cut car then grafted into an older back-end.

i did find a couple of numbers...but i do not know which one is the vin number...the one that starts with AAW7-.... or LHBD.....both have 10 characters.
