disturbing childrens education, people having to take days off work....

why?

because they dont think 20k is enough to be paid in a year!

20k is not what teachers are on. They start on 23k. And it goes up with the amount of years they have stayed at the school for.

I sympathise with the teachers mostly, its one of those jobs the government is trying to make as difficult as possible. I don't see why parents have to take a day off work though? Do those same parents take 6 weeks off work during the summer?

We are not allowed to go on strike.

As I recall, when the fire brigade went out on strike, we ended up having to escort all the tenders to calls.

Please get your facts straight.

£20,133 - starting salary (England and Wales)
£34,281 - most experienced teachers' salary (outside London)
+£4,000 - additional pay for inner London teachers
£39,525 - head teachers' starting salary
Nearly £100,000 - most experienced head teachers' salary

What the hell that much money plus you get school holidays.
And before someone says it I know they do a lot of work out of school hours but bloody hell even when I’m fully qualified I’d have to pull some major overtime to get £34k
