hi does anybody know were to look for engine numbers on my 1275 block i have no numbers on the front of my engine its normally casted in the front the engine / eg wfm etc engine has come out of an autograss car so no engine tag the thing is it goes like stink but i do not know anything about it i was told it could be an early cooper block is there any other numbers on an engine apart from the ones i have mentioned can any body help dontgetit.gif

First you need to find out whether it's an A-series engine or whether it's an A+

If it's an A-series block then there's a chance it could be an early cooper block, IF it is an A-series,.. it will have no block strengthening ribs and the alternator mounting holes will be almost central to the block.

have you got any pictures of the said engine?
