Like I say as long as there's no abuse or personal insults being posted I don't see a problem

Finally, whoever owns the car MUST know that after spraying it in such a "discreet" colour that he/she leaves him/herself open to mickey-taking... and shouldn't be surprised at the posts in this topic, quite frankly.

SO you're happy to talk trash about someone's pride and joy as long as it's the popular decision?
I bet you used to rib the fat kids at school too!
Don't worry, everyone does so it's OK.
so true, you know what i really want a classic, but this kinda anti new MINI attitude somewhat puts me off getting a classic..
You might notice that the original post was not in fact anti-bini. If it were, I would have posted up numerous photos of standard binis that I think are ugly too, however, the post is about what has been done to this bini.
I have no problem with people saying that my mini is ugly, that they don't like it, they think it's been designed poorly, whatever and I will quite happily say to the owner of a mini that I don't personally like that I don't particularly like the design of their mini if the conversation came about.
As has been said by others, good for the guy who put all the money and work into that thing, I'm sure he likes it otherwise he wouldn't have done it, but I don't.
I don't see why TMF has lately become a place where nobody can voice their opinions on anything and must pussyfoot around absolutely everything and everyone.

I actually quite like that car. The profile of it from the side is nice. I would personally change the colour but apart from that I think it's ok.
I really do appreciate everyone's right to an opinion, but I find it all a bit hypocritical. I swear not so long ago people were saying that they didn't like Minifinity because of this kind of thing.
Before some of you start to rip into other people about their cars etc, I suggest you brush up on your English skills so that you don't look so stupid doing so. I accept the odd typing mistake, but it does take away from your credibility when you cannot even use the correct words.
I would agree also with nurseholiday's last post.

From what I can see, the thread was never started as a "Bini bashing" thread.
Thank you!

Everyone has their own opinion, and is entitled to aire it because it's a free country. Obviously on TMF there are certain rules to abide by which without looking at the "rule book" I assume include the prohibition of personal abuse/insults and I hope exclude airing opinions regarding other people's nice or not nice cars. It's a Mini forum, and the whole purpose of this place is to discuss opinions and facts about the classic Mini - and inevitably the new MINI pops up now and again, a car which divides the forum completely but if we aren't allowed to aire our views then what sort of forum would this be?
Well said Chris.
This forum is open to all minis, be they classic or binis and thus the discussion of either is open to all on this forum.
Someone said earlier that this thread was made purely because it was a bini. It was not. If I had seen a classic mini on the street that was in my opinion ridiculously distasteful I still would have posted about it. The fact of the matter is that I haven't come across a classic mini that has given me the same reaction as that bini did.

I concur!
You cannot please everyone all of the time, people will always have opinions and should feel free to express themselves.
This is a predominantly real/classic mini forum and as such there will be less sympathy when it comes to the Bini.

True, but it didn't take long for it to become one. From what I can see, the thread was never started as a "Bini bashing" thread.

I completely agree - and yet there are threads on here that have been closed in the past because of the same thing. It seems like double standards to me...I don't see why TMF has lately become a place where nobody can voice their opinions on anything and must pussyfoot around absolutely everything and everyone.

I also accept many people on here will not like the BMW Mini or this particular design - however to suggest that the car may make you feel sick is a little extreme. It's all too easy for people to throw comments around when sat behind the safety of their monitor. Not so many people would aire their opinions to the guy's face though, I guarantee it. *Cue people saying they would tell the guy, or anyone, that they didn't like there car.*

My comment was about the styling of the car regardless of what car it was! And I was merely airing my own opinion, something that I feel that I'm free to do in a democratic society! The BMW MINI (or BINI to shorten it down a bit) is a nice car. What has been done to it, isn't.
Meh, continue arguing!

I suggest everyone re-reads the forum rules regarding Anti BMW MINI posts.
