My front valance is starting to get a bit scabby.I'm thinking of sanding down and painting something like stonechip on it then overpainting in an aerosol from Halfords.
What is the best product to use for good protection - either brush or paint on,ideally giving a slightly rippled surface that can be overpainted?

Rub it down so there is no rust or flaking paint, etch prime any bare metal areas, then when totally dry, use aersol stonechip, either Upol Gravitex or waxoyls own make of stonechip, both are good. You can colour straight over either, and it will have a textured finish.

I used waxoils spray can to do my front valance, did a nice job and you can paint straight over the top of it. Although I used primer to make sure it matched the rest of the respray. So far so good 5000 miles later.
