Hi all,

I currently have a Swiftune 1380 engine with a stage 4 head and a Kent 286 cam. Its running on a Weber 45 DCOE with a straight cut 'box and s/c drops. Ignition is handled by the latest offerings from H&H ignition, fully mapped and electronic. She's not bad at about 105bhp.

However, I'm doing a clutch change quite soon and generally a bit of an engine overhaul with possible a new head and/or cam, etc

Was wondering what sort of cam & head combo I should (or could) go for? I find the 286 and my stage 4 head OK at the moment, but feel I could go for a step further. The idle is OK and town-running is fine, so I'd like to take it further.

Say, for example, I were to go for a 296 kent, what sort of compression ratio would I able to run? A while ago I had a guide of how to work out, exactly, how much lift a cam will give on a certain given CR and rocker ratio, but I've forgotten it.

Was thinking about going for the 296 kent and the MED rally head (35.7x30 unleaded), or in that kind of area.

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers,
Daze
