Advice Needed On Underseal?

just had a repair done just above where subframe mounts so when finshed i cleaned the underseal off from all the rear then repainted
so i'd like to know wether its worth applying more underseal or is it better to leave just painted?
this was what it looked like before! and it was the same the other side!!!!

I'm no expert full stop, but people have always recommended undersealing to me. Mini's are notorious for rust and it can't do any harm.
As a note on prevention, 90% of the time, pretty much all rusting in and around your wheel arches, as well as the usual spot on the A-panel is caused by mud and debris building up in the wheel arch. It gets flung up there by the tires, gets stuck in all the little nooks and crevices and will stay there for a VERY long time, never really drying out, unless you actively clean it out form time to time.
When you wash your car it's a good idea to get a stiff brush and a steady flow of water up behind your arches and get rid of much grime as you can. make sure you get right into the corners and pay special attention to any overhangs or lips around the arch itself, especially where aftermarket arches or sportspacks have been fitted. basically just keep going until the water runs clear. Then from time to time it is worth jacking your motor up and getting the wheels off one at a time so you can really get in there and make sure those arches and all their corners are spotless, especially at the back of the front arches, behind the A-panel.

Underseal, or at least the black gooey type isn't really used at all these days unless you're trying to hide something. I'd etch prime it, stonechip it, colour it, then apply lots of clear waxoyl, cleaning and re-coating it each winter would be perfectly sufficient.

I try and put back what was once there, for example my sills has schultz on them, so that's what i put back, purely to keep it original looking etc!
