I have to admit though, I'd love one! Really, really would love one.
Hard to find a decent standard one these days in good condition though.

i was the same until i owned one.
it was owned by a car valeter, so was mint.
i spent 4 weeks with it on my drive, waiting to sort my insuance out (was only 18, wasn't easy)
And when i finally got going. . . . . . what a disappointment!
even at stage 1, not very quick.
it had the look, but until you hit the REALLY unreliable stage 3 zone, not very quick.
Looks great in the pictures, but in real life? ? ? ?
plus, i don't care how good it is when you buy it, get the cheque book out! its going to go wrong!

what i was trying to say was. They are great looking cars, (I Love them) but the reality is that things aren't always what they seem.
Mine was a very good one, 2 owners from new, a history to die for, straight as hell.
but if you put any real mileage on them, not practical!
ive got loads of friends who have had 3 or 4 of them, and that exactly why.
they're great fun, then they get fed up of them, sell them, a couple of months/years go by, and they get the yearning again!! and it all starts again!
At stage 1 they realy arent quick
Stage 3 and above and they're rocket ships, but be prepared to get your cheque book out!

To be honest, i'd only own a cossie if I had money to maintain it anyway, so the reliability issue wouldnt be a problem if I could afford one.
