The silver rim on my allycats has gone dull, i was wondering what was the best way to go about polishing it up to a real nice shiney finish..
what is the best way?
i've used some Autosol metal polish and tried by hand but this literally takes an age, i was wondering if there might be any better methods...
oh and im pretty sure the wheels are'nt laquered but they do come up shiney after a hell of alot of elbow grease..
cheers

Maybe dremel or something like that? Or if they're really surface corroded some fine wet and dry? Not sure though really.

I use fine wire wool, then autosol. Takes a while but the results are worth it. Otherwise, you can get an alloy wheel polishing kit from Frost ART.

I picked up some Mambas on Saturday that I won on Ebay. As you can see they were quite badly corroded on the rims with lacquer peeling etc. I stripped the lacquer from the rims and used a combination of Dremel and wire wool with Solvol Autosol to get a pretty reasonable finish. When the tyres are completely shot, I'll pull the vales out and finish the hard to reach areas in the same way.

Thats the idea Pete, just waiting for some nice, shiney new wheel nuts to come up on Ebay.
I'm not too sure whether they'll suit my car so I'll be asking for opininons when I swap them, yours is always appreciated
