but hte thing i really like about it is that the photos are really instant, you dont have any time between pressing the button and the picture actually taking

isnt there a problem with the photos blurring with this feature? i hate blurry photos as i dont really have a steady hand :(

x

it does have an anti shake aswell so they dont blur if you shake it. it has some coloured square system. if you've zoomed all the way in to something far away you need to be steady tho...

Ignore completely the number of megapixels on a point and shoot. It doesn't matter at all as the sensors are so small. My 3mp Minolta takes better pictures than some of the cheaper cameras on the market with more pixels. As with any camera the quality of the lens is what gives you the better pictures.

I have never had a problem with the Samsung models. The picture quality is good and they have a good range of features. You can't get much better than the Fuji range for colour rendition and picture quality. Have a look at some of the Fuji bridge cameras.

Never ever buy something with no name unless you know for definite it is a re-badged well know good make or you are just wasting your money. With anything photography-related. You buy cheap....you get cheap!

If all you are using at present is a camera phone then most well known point and shoot cameras will fulfil your needs.

i doubt i will be printing anything i just want excellent quality photos, nothing worse than zooming in an seeing a blur rather than a zoom into the picture, this is the problem i suffer with my phone, obviously it is a phone granted but here is the differerence between my phone and a camera

I've got a Sony Cyber Shot W55 which I paid around £98 for just before Christmas. I bought it after seeing pictures a friend had took on hers, and I cannot fault it :)

i,ve had the fuji s5600 for a while now and think its great, takes great photos, has 10x zoom and even takes really good videos. Bought my daughter the upgraded s5700 for christmas and thats even better, it's smaller, has 7 million pixels instead of 5 million and it takes the really cheap SD cards instead of only the XD. If you shop around you can get them for under £100

i have a panasonic TZ2. its 10x wide angle zoom which is great considering the size of the camera. only had it about 6 months but have not had one problem. mum has a panasonic that is a couple years old and it's been great as well.

theres not a great range of compact cameras with big zoom on the market so its pretty good. metal casing as well so it's a bit tougher than most others.

good luck

sub-£100...that one you first posted would do the job. Over that....everytime I would vote for the panasonic...any of them:-) The tz3 is ace, as its fairly small but huge zoom and good lense.

just have to say...mp mean nothing if your either not printing or only say printing to a4. 3mp will do a4. If you want to do bigger prints at some point in the future go for at least 5mp but dont get too caught up in it:-) If you think you might want to get into it as a hobby then yes, go higher spec. but a throw away camera will take snapshots a mom would be happy with on a day out to the zoo...whereas a hobbyist will want abit higher spec. Depends on what you want.5mp would be not enough for my stuff at college but overkill for my nan.
