First the kit

First the rotor arm, this is a non standard item but just replaces a standard item
The blue bit is the actual electronics and is held in place using the existing screws on the dizzy backplate

Right now the one down side, depending what type of points you have fitted you may have to modify the backplate
The picture above shows the setup for a sliding points type dizzy, the bit marked red is a peg which the standard points locate against. To fit the system you need to remove this peg.
On non sliding points dizzys the system should just screw straight on, although I can't confirm this.
The bits marked blue above are the standard fixing screw (big) for the points and the screw for the back plate earth cable, these are the two screws used to mount the electronic module

System fitted

The black wire just connects to the original dizzy spade connection (negative)
The red wire connects to the positive terminal on the coil.
We have fitted it to a 1989 ballasted coil system, the system claims it works with ballasted and non ballasted.
We removed the dizzy for ease of access, but total time from removing, fitting electronic ignition to refitting and firing I would say was 1/2 hr.
After fitting we checked timing and took for a run, working a treat.
Total price less than £15 inc postage

There's a local motor shop near me owned by some old men - they've really helped me out with when my roberta breaks down. I just bought them one of these electronic kits as an xmas present. They're putting it in their MG.

Is I wanted to put it into a 59D dizzy, 'cause I only run A+ engines, and didn't want to cut the only 59D base plate I had, I fitted the 45D plate instead of the 59D.
Works fine and you can leave the whole contakt-set as replacement in the glove box

It's still a plug & play job (to be honest more than with having to modifie the 59D's plate)
It's just too bloody cold to change the dizzy ATM...

Cheers,
Jan
PS: Postage for 4 modules to Germany was 5 pound at M-M4x4!

Took 10 minutes to fit the kit and another fifteen to check timing/fuelling and it's been perfect since.
Idle is also a lot smoother.
I did change plugs/leads/oil/filters at same time, which may have played a part. I do think they are more than worth their price though.
