it's not due until the 21st (same day as the Bungle run if anyone is interested) and i called into my local garage to get it booked it
i was told they were very busy for the next few weeks but if i came back at 4pm today they would do it while i waited
i left work early at 3:30 and went to find my mini, i hadn't even driven it since the lifeboat run in october so was unsure everything was working
after a few rubber hammer jokes, how long have you had it and how much money have i spent on it jokes we cracked on
first was a dodgy ball joint but after a squirt of grease that went away (so we did the rest of the nipples while we had the grease gun out)
only other problem was some rust in the rear valance with in 30cm of the subframe mount
everything else is ok
so a small bit of welding over the weekend and i should be ok for another 12 months

with it's 20th birthday coming up later this year the old girl needs a bit of body work so i decided i would just patch the valance at this time and do all of the body work properly at one time
so this was a quick fix to keep the MOT man happy
cut

make a patch

weld

paint

2 hours from start to finish job done, i will call in to the MOT place sometime next week
