Stripped the cylinder head down, today, guides were gone, hence the smoke on start up! Knocked the guides out and cleaned the head up. Off to MOSS spares am to get a new set off guides and head gasket set and hopefully no smoke again. once ive sorted that then the engines coming out for new gaskets and seals as leaking oil in the normal places and want to paint the engine bay etc and engine itself. Engine is going retro bmc green to go with the retro theme i want.
Pics of cylinder head to follow

one of the cylinder head seats with the valves moved
note the left valve guide still fitted, took all seven out except the first one to show how high the new ones have to sit.
cylinder head waiting new guides, valves re cutting in and rebuilding and a lick off paint.
