Just looking through the Dash directory.

Saw this....

Posted Image

Like the "mini" on the glove box as well.

Anyone know how to do it?

What speakers would fit?

Also I have 2 6 x 9's on my back parcel shelf.

Is it possible to pop a couple more speakers in without amps and more batteries etc etc....

Anyone know how to do it? Buy lettering and rivit it on place

What speakers would fit? where? in the dash i have 10cm speakers, and they were in my door until feubary time.

Also I have 2 6 x 9's on my back parcel shelf.

Is it possible to pop a couple more speakers in without amps and more batteries etc etc.... depends on what ur headunit has output ways...if it says for example "4x45W" then yeah, but i might only say "2x90w" then no.

No I was on about the speak config....not the lettering.

Look at thread header.

Looks like speakers have been mounted in door storage somehow and then drilled out so you get better quality sound.

Any ideas?

Your head unit will be 4 x 20w RMS give or take.

The 6x9's as they are are already underpowered, which... is better thanbeing over-powered I suppose, but I disike 6x9's anyway. Anyway; 2 6x9's take up 2 channels, so with the remaining 2 from your head unit, you can have 2 front speakers without needing a supplementary amp.

Any yes, judging from the picture... you are right.

OK,

I got:

Max output power:
50W x 4
45W x 4 (KDC-W237)

So that would be ok if I wanted two up from as well huh?

Also, what size speakers you recon I could fit in the door storage?

I think this is the tidiest up front speakers I've seen.

Anyone agree?

Bob

Those door storage bins are made like that, I have a set on my mini. I bought mine from a show, they came out of another mini and they use 10cm (4inch) speakers. Also they are seperate from the storage bins.

NOt that I know of, I dont know what year minis they were built into or what model. They are well made if not a little shallow but they do hold my fli speakers but do push into the door card a little.

Ahhhh ok, the bloke i bought them off said they are gaurenteed to be off a mini, and all the screw holes line up and everything but they may have been swapped from a metro to a mini then that bloke sold them to me as mini parts. Thanks for the info.

No problem, having thought about it i think there's a couple of different ones used on metros, some like above and some with an adjoined door handle, they all fit, though some might need a few extra holes drilling, I've not tried the later rover metro ones as yet, they take larger speakers too so might be worth a go? If you want to find some that directly fit, take a mini pocket with you as reference against the metro ones.
(P.S. Im not a metro freak, just torn loads of them apart for spares over the years!!)

These are ok if you want storage that rattles your stuff around!!!
But with 6x9s in the rear shelf you're not going to hear some little 4" speakers up front firing at your feet!! When someone faces away from you can you hear what they are saying as clear as when they are looking at you?!?!?!?!?
Why not mod the pockets you have to bring the speakers up at an angle, preferably firing towards your head in the sitting position, better sound quality and you wont have to turn it up so loud to hear it.

It is a very true fact.

But my rear speakers aren't pointing at my head, a mini is small so not really an issue.

Surely?!?!

It is true that I cant realy hear my 4 inch fli speakers over my 4 6x9s and my sub, but I quite often turn off my amps and just listen to my head unit powerd fli's. I would have thought that the same 4 inch speakers would be better suited in the vents.
