Have picked up an A+ block this afternoon which the seller thought was 1380. Having measures across the top of the cylinders with a decent ruler the best I can get to is 72mm. Unless I am wrong the 1380 should be 73.5mm?

What have I got here?!

+60 is how many thou overbored. The other 2 numbers is the width of the bore in mm.

if not look for numbers on the piston as they are usually a tell tale sign

Have bought a bare block so no pistons to check, sadly!

I saw that block and I thought it was 1380. I thought it said 73.5mm.?
If it is all good that I thought it was reasonable.

There were two in my neck of the woods. One had pistons with it, this one didn't. Guy I bought it from had been told it was 1380 but had not used it having stuck with 1275. Also he'd not measured it.

Not the end of the world as I'd be just as happy with a 1330, to be honest, looking for something that will last but I'm not going to be doing quarter miles on a daily basis- just want a tad more under the right foot!

Will get the block cleaned up and measured properly.

Right- calipers brought it up at 72mm although that is measured against a metal ruler. I am working on the basis that this is a 1330 block......

more likely to be 1310 as the bore has to be bigger than the piston so the rings can fit...

The best bet is to get the calipers on the block.
