Has anyone use A Z Cars front subframe with a A series engine in it? A man down the road from me had one but he sold the project before he finished it.
I was thinking of putting one in the front of my mini

I concur! I went from a modified mini subframe (adjustable everything and coilovers) to a z-cars one (admittedly without the a-series) and the transformation was astonishing!
When i sold my mini i took a guy out for a test drive who said that down normal b roads the ride and quality were better that his Viper and his ultima by a long way!

Only drive mine less than 100 miles. It feels quite firm at the moment, but certainly less bumpy than the cone and hard dampers I had on a previous Mini. I haven't had the suspension properly set up yet though, so couldn't tell you exactly what the A series is like.
One thing though, you won't have room for a side mounted radiator, so be prepared to have to switch to distributor-less ignition and an MPi front mounted radiator.

Ahhhh the joys of the Zcars Aseries frame. I ran one for a short while with a fresh built 1430 in it. The handling is superb compared to a standard uprated set up. If i were to do another quick Aseries (like. . . when i hit 80 years old), I wouldn't hesitate to source one. They are that good IMO.
James, get it sorted out man, they're damn good. You need to soften it up a little so that there is some travel. It all tightens up nice when you push it

Yea, got lots on at the mo! But when it all gets put back together the Protechs will be coming off in favour of a nice pair of Nitrons!

Just a quick question, how much does one of these cost from Z-cars?

Not sure, last time I checked (quite a while ago now), they were just over £1k plus VAT. Worth ringing and finding out.
