Hi guys. i have recently had my engine (rover mini cooper 94 SPI 1275) rebuilt as it seized. put it all back together, got her running but now once the engine has warmed it does not like to idle. when its cold its runs beautifuly but once it has run for 5 minutes or so she struggle to idles and sounds really rough. There has been a new lambard sensor fitted along with a second hand manifold, so assuming its not the throttle position sensor, lambard sensor, or the idle stepper motor, or vacuum pipes and fuel trap as these have all been replaced, what could it be. Anything i can check at home bearing in mind i am not the worlds best mechanic. Would it be easier to plug the ecu into a diagoniscts computer and see what that says.

Cheers for reading hope you can help

Khaleel

Hi,

I have a similar problem, again not the best mechanic especially with SPI engines.
Engine runs fine when cold, but won’t idle when hot!!!
Done all the cheap and simple stuff like plugs filters etc etc..

Did you get any luck sorting yours out??
Is there any one near Maidenhead or Windsor that can help....

All the best,

Ben
