As my mini is not calibrated properly i have taken measurements and created a paper template for my speedo. With this and my GPS i am marking all the MPH's in incriments of 10.
I have produced a "trial" facia which looks very effective. I will put up a picture of this tomorrow and see what everyone thinks.
If it works well and i have interest for custom sets, i will gladly produce these in std form, or maybe make a few sets for different calibrations. i.e 2.9/3.44/3.2FD with 10's, 12's 13's etc. this depends on access to what minis i can get my hands on but im sure with some group co-operation with friends i could do this pretty easily
any feedback will be greatly appreciated, obviously i could create some Miniforum ones too

I dont think the GPS readings will be accurate enough, will they?
(well ours wasnt anyway)
as we used the speedo from the gps, and compared with the car one and it was about 5MPH off probably due to the accuracy of the civilian GPS
just a thought

Thats about what mine is, about 2-3miles off. As i thought, gps was more accurate obviusly i was going to test at a point where i know i can get connections to 6 sat's. At the moment im using a program which gives me lots of useul info, instead of tomtom as its not so accurate.
Whats GPS systems to they use for hill climbs now then? i thoguht they were the same system as i have?
Even if it was 2-3 miles off.. at least at 70 it would show 67or73 rather than 50

this was just a test, but once car is MOT'd i would go out and sort it out properly with incruments of 10.
As for cost, i wouldnt charge much. Im using HP Photo glossy paper and would only want to cover the cost of ink etc.
Once i work it out ill put a price up. but only reckon it would cost about £5 posted?
im going to do my GF some for her triple clocks, so once ive done that i will post an image up.

it just takes a little time and take the cluster to pieces followed by the mechanical part, removing the needle and screws..

Note changing fascias is an... interesting task heh
Not very hard, but extremely fiddly, and VERY easy to break something , its all so fragile
by the way, fascia looks real nice. I did something similar, but put a frosted piece of plastic over the printed paper so its kinda foggy, looks very nice when lit up though!
