Hi all!

I'm Anji (duh), 22 years old, proud mama of an utterly insane nearly-three-year-old.

I don't have my Mini yet. I've wanted one since I was about eleven or twelve, and specifically a pink one. Don't laugh! I have a shaved head and I probably weigh more than most of you... I just like pink. ;D I said stop laughing!

I finally found one anyway; a 1986 Mini Mayfair (yes, this car is as old as I am!), which has been repainted in pink. My other half is paying for it on the condition that I stop smoking to finance the insurance. It's a done deal!

So I go to view it on Saturday and if all is well, it shall be mine. Any tips for a first-time Mini buyer?

Actually, this will be my first car. Actually... I don't even have my license yet. I have a provisional and have had a few lessons with friends, so this is my kick in the arse to get my damn license.

Wow, this is a ridiculously long introduction. Perhaps I should have stuck with "Hi!"? :P

Am I going to sound really, really stupid if I ask what a subframe is? ^_^

There's 2 subframes on a Mini, one at the front and one at the back ^_^

The frame at the front holds the engine and the brakes etc - It's the black (usually) metal frame that everthing bolts to! The subframe at the back holds the rear brakes and suspension on!

Not a problem! ^_^

It's the rear subframe that seems to rust through much quicker than the front one, just give them the once over, make sure they're solid!
