here's a picture of my 12" sub mounted in the boot of my min. If you're going to do this the sub has to be a free-air one and you need to seal the whole boot area as best you can. This gives very good sound and incredible low down bass but is best without additional speakers mounted in the shelf. The sub is mounted to a piece of inch thick MDF which is then bolted to the car. A hole also has to be cut in the rear seat. I'm in the process of recovering the boot at the moment so as soon is i do-it i'll bang some pics on here.

Or if you wanted to go for the more simple option!!::

12" sub in an enclosed box!!!! to fit it in i had to remove boot strings, boot surround rubber, turn it sideways and do a bit of jiggling!! very easy tho, and that is with a boot liner of about 8mm. just have to carry a screwdriver with me encase i have a blow out as my spare is still underneath!!

sounds very very good tho, need to get some sound deadening tho for the rear quater cappings, under the seat and that. tis a bit rattly!

I am thinking about going for a similar option to the 'free air' tho, looks wicked with a chromey sub!!

one of my mates has a escort with 2 subs, imported from america, and between them they weigh 7stones!! he runs a club called escortevolution.co.uk

sorry just looking at philsters site

Best moment in this car - On my way back from blackpool one evening with four of us in the car. At this time I was running an almost standard spec. Got on the nice winding lanes near belmont/rivington and stumbled across a brand new 'saxo vtr' needles to say he left me for dead on the straights only to be caught up by me every time we hit a corner. You could see the fustration on his face, he'd just spent probably the best part of 11K on a car that could'nt even out run a mini. Anyway this went on for about half a mile when he decided he'd try and keep up with me round a corner, seconds later he had a rendevous with a tree!. Oh how we laughed (checked he was okay first) at his expense as he slammed his steering wheel in anger. 1-0 to the minis!

thats cracking that! great site philster, check his site out here :D

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

anyway i thought having a sub in the car would vibrate too much and muck the car up, thats what ive been told, prove them wrong!
