Hi everyone, I'm going to continue my brother's build thread, I'm the 'stupid' brother who said Matt black wasn't a good idea, the mini is a 1989 racing green mini which I bought off my brother after if got bored with it, he had replaced the sills and a wing three years ago and its been sitting in my parents garage ever since, after the 100th time of asking and £400 it was mine! This is my second mini after my first car which was a mini mayfair 10 years ago. I will keep it in my parent's garage because I have no where at mine to keep it, I will be trying to keep the costs down because I am getting married June 3rd this year and I also want it done for then, also there will be a few questions on here as well because I'm not 100% sure how to do everything or what order to do it in! I'm a little way into my rebuild so I will post up what I have done so far, all comments are welcome! All my pictures are just from my phone so if they are rubbish please say and I'll retake them with a proper camera,

Using a steel brush in a drill took all the old filler out of the join in the front of the wings because it wasn't welded up so it had cracked, so welded them up and filled them smooth and also took the bumpers off for a nice smooth front!

These are the wheels my brother had already, but 3 of them are 10x6 and one is 10x5.5



so I have got some more, deepdish10x6 revos

Started to take the bumper off the back, a lot harder than the front! I haven't got much experience with a welder so welds are quite big but good and strong! And nothing a grinder can't sort out,

All done! Smoothed over with a skim of filler and primed as well as the boot lid,

Carbon fibre bonnet, not the best fit but It was cheaper than another steal one! I have cut the hinges off the old bonnet and glued them to the underside and I will get some leather straps for the front

Second hand exhaust from ebay, it was for a injection mini so I have from the manafold back so I have alot of spare exhaust now! I should of read the description a bit better! Still it was cheap,



This is as far back and as high as I can go because of the battery box,

These are some cooper s 7.5 discs me and my dad got 10 years bin for my last mini but didn't put them on so they were still in the garage,



A bit of elbow grease and some new shiny bit and they will be as good as new,

Been doing a few bits, painted the garage floor, also got all the roof sorted for spraying





There was a big lump in this corner, I don't know why,

Thank you, I have always wanted to do it, and this was a great opportunity since the mini was off the road,



Also I took everything off the doors and taped everything up ready for spraying
