Yeah... Especially when you replace 80+% of the car like I did on my Moke... Eagerly waiting for more of your updates, I have a van I plan to rebuild into a wooden load floor style like yours :)

managed to get a few hours on the van today
removed the inner wing and found this stupid panel that is nothing more than a rust trap and i dont see there being a need for it
but I've promised myself at the start of the build to keep it as original as possible. soooo cardboard template made
then new steel welded on
then come the inner wing its self
all the holes for the plug welding done and then the panel prepared with zinc (weld thru ) primer where needed
and finally started to weld it on, there's a few places where i can use the spot welder (when i fix it)
A post repair is next on the cards

Tackled the rusty bulkhead
Turned out to be a bit of a pain, but it's done now just need to dress the welds and redrill the holes for the throttle pedal

It's going to be as it left the factory, but with duel line brakes with disks up front.

Today I spent way to long dressing some welds that wont even been seen
then the van was turned the right way up
next on my list is the A post repair
pic doesn't show it very well but the edge the A panel welds to is very thin and pin holed, so a repair panel has been bought
tomorrow I'll be welding some box section into the door frame to help avoid anything moving then i can go about cutting out the old metal

Today I welded in some angle iron to help keep some strength in the door frame then cut out the old metal and treated the metal behind to some POR15
hopefully new steel will be melted into place before the weekend :)

Today I moved onto the rear n/s floor, although from the inside it looks in ok condition when you see the other side of the panel it's very rusty as can been seen in pics below from many years ago when I bought the van
Inside
I bought a repair panel for the entire length of the load bay
But as with the other side I wasn't happy with the lack of the pressed recesses so I bought the front half as well
Forgot to take pictures of the old panel being cut out, heres the new panel welded
Hopefully next weekend I can cut the rest of the floor out and weld in the other repair panel (minus the front section)

Its going original but with a few modifications to make it a bit safer - inertia seat belts, disk brakes up front with a duel line system and halogen headlights.
Basically it will look original
