hi, i am changing my spi mini to run a carbed turbo engine

i know that certain things like the petrol tank (with fuel return) will be ideal for what im doing.

however, i will be removing the ecu totally. from what i understand the dizzy will need to be replaced. also the ignition, fuel pump and temp sender?the alarm doesnt work anyway.

this is what i have picked up from little bits of info along the way, it may not be right.

can someone clarify what the ecu exactly controls, and what i need to do to overcome these problems when the ecu is removed.

im hoping someone has done this conversion and can give the info that im looking for.

many thanks

i'm guessing this will be a track day car as it will never pass a spi emissions test at MOT time

It would pass an emissions test if set up properly, did my car last year. Ran better and more torque.

Use the return line for the mech/lecy fuel pump, fit a metro dizzy and take power from the fuse panel for the coil. You can toss the ecu and take the temp sensor wire from the bulkhead loom. Spi coil will work ok.
