i have a mini sprite that has an eratic idle. after driving for a while the idle revs increase until i have to stop and turn the engine off, leave it for a few minutes and then re-start. sometimes the car won't start and i charge the battery, which will be fine for a week or so and then then the same problem occurs.

i've replaced the alternator and the battery but this hasn't solved the problem, could it be the starter motor or is it something to do with the electrical management system? can anyone help?
