Right, iv just bought a square stick on number plate, its white with black letters. now i want to put it on my bonnet but im not sure which side to put it on, does it matter?
as this one is on the left side

http://farm1.static....1167815.jpg?v=0

and iv found a few others that have put it on the drivers side, so does it HAVE to go there?
anyone got 1 on theres? and which side have you put it?

I would personally put it on the drivers side, dont think there is a law to which side you can put them on think its owners preference.

ye i found a few more piccies and most of theres are on the drivers side... drivers side it is then!

by the way can people post up pics of there minis with the stick on number plates then we make this a sticky? i dont fink theres enough stickys in this section of common asked questions such as;

diff wheel types
Arch differences
exhaust styles
light choice (including spotlights and fogs)

and if pos could we make all of the above mainly consisting of pics as itd make life sooo much easier! what do people think?

edit; oh and also how about making the which seats fit into a classic mini a sticky aswell?

It doesn't matter where you mount your stick on numberplate, it will be just as illegal fitted in any position. There tend not to be rules about where you can mount things that you aren't meant to have. Actually technically it isn't illegal but not having a proper numberplate as well will get you into trouble.

What Dan is referring to is that the number plate must be a reflective design, which none of the stick-on ones are and that it must be mounted on a vertical surface, which the mini bonnet is not. There are exceptions where a car is produced for a market with different rules to ours, eg the number plates on the front of some japanese cars, but the Mini isn't one of them.

I'm not passing judgement, its up to you waht you do, but be aware of the risks.

I just got a rear plate from the same place - will go back for a sticky.
What size did you go for ?
(Yes I know it's not strictly legal but it looks good...)
And no it's not a real Cooper S but I bought the reversing lamp and the guy couldn't be
bothered to find the spanner to remove it from the boot !
So I just fitted the lot and went retro from then on. (Mk 1 lights are next).
