would anyone be able to help me with my problem and tell me a solution if there is one. i was going along the idea as jammy and thats i'll just carry a spare with me but if this goes i have to undo engine mounts, jack the sump up and take off the rad and fan ideally not what i would call perfect by any means.

how long do you think this belt wil last this is about 20 mins of running time. as you can see from the pics its not ideal.

i might even complain to sc as i had to space the bracket out as it did not line up correctly, the bolts are just long enough, poor r&d done before a finished product is completed and it isn't exactly cheap. is to much to want there bracket to line up with there trigger kit?.

So you added the skinny bits on the other side of the sensor bracket?

All the same that is pants :D.

Maybe button headed screws or even counter sinks? An old rally trick was to secure a spare belt around to the water pump so there's no threading to do round the fan - but you'd still have the crank pulley to contend with.

fit a drive belt off a 998 :dozing:

Also, it is designed to be spaced out, as not every engine is the same, so lining up the sensor needs some sort of spacing which, at the time of manufacture, cannot be determined :D

but if its designed to be spaced out why not supply some different set of bolts as well as mine has had to be spaced out a fair bit and i've lost a lot of thread. my main concern is this belt rubbing. i knew i would get a bit but not this much its a poorly made product at the end of the day imo and this could have been avoided if a bit more time was spent looking into it.

granted i can't produce it, but theres a guy on tm who made a bracket that didn't rub so i expect he same from something that cost alot more.

well tried the 998 belt and still rubbed although was a little better, also had to file down the bracket to make some more clearence and i guess we'll see how it goes.

not impressed with this product still. but what can you do!

Mines the KAD one, and it seems to fit a little better than that. I haven't had to space out my bracket at all, and as such, the bracket only sits proud of the two alloy legs/columns by less than 1mm. Because of this, the belt doesn't so much rub, but more glides over the bracket and column. Its made it a bit shiny, but hasn't caused any wear yet. I think I may try a 998 belt too.

Obviously, with my subframe and front rad, changing a belt at a roadside for me, albeit still hassle, won't be any where near as involved as it would be for you!

It only needs the L shaped plate replacing with a slightly longer one, surely they could manage that? If anyone wants to send me the dimensions, I might even knock a few out if I can find a bit of alloy angle kicking about.

Hi Ethel

i read what you wrote and was like thats not a bad idea but if you look at the pic wont it still run but on the other side as the belt would still touch it.

could a curved bit of ali be made to act like a roller plate covering that part where it rubs so the belt rolls over a smooth bit of ali that’s about 2 cm in width or would that still wear it down.
