Its true, they seem to go up because if you have a roll cage your more likely to need one (drive like an idiot etc..)

just to put my 2 pence worth in,i have a roll cage and do not drive like an idiot, and this is being somewhat steriotypical imo,as my insurance is on a classic policy with adrian flux and i am an old fart ( 32 ) my insurance is very cheap at 350 pounds on an agreed value limited mileage policy.maybe young drivers and roll cages dont mix in the eyes of the insurance company!!!

it's simply viewed as a modification away from standard which no insurance companies like.. nothing to do with stereotyping.

took me 25 mins to list all my mods to adrian flux... £135 fully comp, agreed value of £8K

then i added nitrous and it jumped to £420!!!!

i was refering to mighty mini jack and his comment about needing a roll cage due to driving like an idiot,as i have a roll cage he is now saying i drive like an idiot, which is not the case, and so i have been " steriotyped" as a manic dangerous driver, clearly due to my protective equipment fitted to my car lol

think yourself lucky, my insurance is 2 grand :D

to be honest the only need for you to put a roll cage in is if your useing it for rallying/track days, all mean that your more likely to crash your car because of the speeds involved, im sure your insurance would go up if you said you were going to be useing it for rallys.

my policy permits me to use my car on track days,as i do several times in the year, thruxton, coombe e.t.c, the only limitation on the policy is the mileage,a max of 4000 per year

my car would be a daily driver so i would need it as cheap as possible to ensure i dont mind not having much money left over at the end of the month tho!
