Dude - Just noticed something important- I read through your thread and there's a picture your rear brakes,.. the springs that attach to the rear shoes are not installed correctly.

They the springs have been fitted infront of the shoes rather than behind, they are also upside down meaning that the spring will rub on the drive flange and eventually wear through.

Thanks for that mate ill get it sorted

Also another problem, when i took it out yesterday to start if i braked quite hard it would pull vioently to the left, now that has died down abit, the brakes dont feel as good, and apparently yesterday during our night/morning of driving apparrently my brakes were throwing out sparks when braking :w00t: any one have any idea what this could be??

Also my front wheels are covered in a very thick layer of brake dust :s

Sparks eh?,.... well i'd check those springs first and then check that your shoes are attached properly and haven't broken up

Stupid F*cking car, went out for a drive tonight, car cut out, got it going again, then it cut out again, i smelt burning, so my mate got out, and i had to clamber over her side to get out as i sort of reversed into a bush (single track road and no reverse lights) run to the boot realised the keys were in the car still, clambered back in, got keys and turnt the cut of switch, run to boot and see flames around my battery chuck the random tyre i have in the boot out, it rolls down the hill (brother chases it for me, thanks) the on fire battery cover get thrown in the road and stomped on. i see that the negative batter cable has burth through were it connects to boot floor, try connect it, i get sparked at, try a second time thinking it wont do it again LOL silly me, so i get my mate to steer it while i take the weight of the car down hill on tarmac covered in gravel, while my cousin shines a torch and my brother reverses his car back, we find a opening, to turn it around, let my brother go in front as he has lights me and my cousin pushing it along, really fast, i get tired after running with it for ages while trying to hold my shorts up so i got in my brothers car and he pushed the mini haha then we got it down to near a main road, so i phoned josh who told me what i needed to do, the postive battery cable had melted on the exhaust burnt through and shorted out but im not sure how that made the negative cable go, but i had no tools or anything, so luckly before i went out mum made me put my breakdown cover stuff in my car, so i phoned them, told them all my details, then got asked if my car was a audi, so i corrected her, and she sent out the recovery truck, no one would get in it with me, not even my best mate, because she thought the bloke looked scary, anbd she has watched to much horror films, but the bloke was a ledgend, talked all the way home about old cars, and i cant remember what car he said it was but it was pushing out 870 BHP with nos, but best of all he used to build race engines for minis :proud: :proud: lol

That paste is no good, it always falls off after a bit of use.
