you can undo the split pin and slide the rocker shaft out so you can do it in situ with out disturbing the head

How would you get the rocker shaft back in afterwards as the valves will force themselves shut? You'd have to compress them to allow each rocker back into position surely?

It may be possible to wind off all of the rocker adjusters enough to have it loose.

The clutch is do-able with the engine in situ, but its awkward. I managed to do mine on a Sunday. I also swapped a couple of rocker arms over on my daily driver. IIRC i think you can unwind the rocker adjusters and get enough clearance to slide out the rocker shaft.

if you back the rockers off you can slide ity out with out a struggle
