I'm led to believe the only 10" wheels that will fill miglia arches (and look decent) are 10x7 wheels...

Can you get road tyers for theese, and anyone know where I can buy the wheels and tyers from?

I have been told that 10x7 are illegal for road use and the tyres are not made, instead apparently they use 10x6 with inner tubes.
not 100% on the truth of this but i tried everywhere to get 10x7 and was told this at a tyre dealership.

the information you are relaying is highly innacurate and and far from true.

what you must first accept is that 99.9% of people who work in tyre shops know nothing about the laws that apply to the products they sell, as they are just that , sellers of tyres and nothing else,

165's on 7" wide rims, I don't know about illegal but my 195 still looks narrow on a 7", I can't say I have ever seen a 165 recomended on a 7" rim but it would surely look odd?

Yeh, I'll have a brake setup suitable for 10" wheels soon.

8.4" Disks Apprently go under 10's (Machined down 9.4" Disks) with some Minisport alloy calipers (apprently dont need to change the drives flanges then)

So I've been told... hoping it will become clearer when I get round to it.

Theres no law relating to the widths of wheels, certainly no law that allows 7" wide wheels once the wheels are of a certain diameter. (7" is a fairly widely used width on larger sized wheels)

The problem is that you can't get road tyres that are wide enough and while you can stretch them, they are likely to fall foul of the construction and use regulations and a non-paying insurance company if circumstances conspire against you.

For hcmini1989's benefit, none of the above is in anyway judgemental, just a statement of fact, nothing more.

WILL SOMEONE PLEASE MAKE SOME WIDER TYRES!

PS - If you need the width, consider spacing your wheels out perhaps, though make sure you go for the correct spacers, the ones with longer studs.

Superfins have a built in 1" spacer... so would 10x6 on the back, with superfins... Fill a pair of miglia arches?

(Would look the same as running 10x7's no?)

LOL! I'm not sure I like the look when the tyre isn't seating well against the rim, though I admire the effort!

Not sure about the superfins spacer, though I think that applies to the rear drums on all minis that came with disks on the front. Not sure why the change was made though?

On my car the rear wheels always seem to sit half an inch inwards compared to the fronts, my arches look about the same width at front and rear. The Miglia rear arches look less wide than the fronts, though I don't know if this is the case.
