stretched tyres what??
LOL! I'm not sure I like the look when the tyre isn't seating well against the rim, though I admire the effort!
Not sure about the superfins spacer, though I think that applies to the rear drums on all minis that came with disks on the front. Not sure why the change was made though?
On my car the rear wheels always seem to sit half an inch inwards compared to the fronts, my arches look about the same width at front and rear. The Miglia rear arches look less wide than the fronts, though I don't know if this is the case.
not a mini i might add, my friend old lupo who was featured in a few mag's main features

The particular type of arch you are referring to has no fixing method built into it, therefore the arch can be trimmed down to suit any wheel width! You don't HAVE to have 10" x 7" wheels to fill the arches, whoever says you do is talking bo**ocks.
The wheels shown on the previous page are actually Fastcarls creations aka Force Racing, he can offer the wheels upto 7" wide maybe even 8" (unsure). Why not just get them made 6" wide ??
The method is very cost effective when compared to a 3 piece set.
On the subject of 165 tyres over a 7" rim - seen it done loads, never heard anything about it being illegal and yes its best to use innertubes, IIRC I think its compulsory on the 3 piece rims.
Hopefully this clarifies the arch query,
Les.

165/70/10 tyres yoko A008 are what iv'e got on my 10x7 splits i had them checked by an mot guy and he couldn't see a problem at all.

Who's moaning?? The point of the debate is that not everyone knows the score, so people ask and people answer.
Worth pointing out here that the MOT doesn't even check the tyres tread depth, just their general condition, so the opinion of an MOT guy is largely worthless compared with what a policeman might say or a court after hearing what the tyre manufacturer says their maximum wheel width is.
As I've said earlier tonight, I don't care what you do in your own spare time.

ok so moaning wasn't the right word to use and i probably shouldnt have started ranting but how often does this get asked and its always the same outcome..
nobody agrees
im off this week so may nip down with one of my wheels and ask my local police,
at end of the day you make your choice and take the risk.

Would be interested to hear what they say. Personally, my main concern would be that its virtually guaranteed that an insurance company would refuse to pay out if the wheels are wider than the tyre manufacturers maximum and they have an assessor look at it.

the police are not the people to ask, they would have there own ideas or interpretations , mostly based on if they could issue a ticket and hit there targets, lol,ok so moaning wasn't the right word to use and i probably shouldnt have started ranting but how often does this get asked and its always the same outcome..

as mentioned above , "conditions and use ", but i suspect it would have to be proved that it is dangerous to use a slightly stretched tyre on a wheel, of which it would be very easy to prove it is not,and is in fact perfectly safe, with or without inner tubes fitted,
the only time such an issue is ever going to be sorted is when someone has a bad accident and there are fatalities, and the wheel tyre combo was in some way to blame, if it was proved such,
a precident would then be set , which would require all tyre manufacturers to state max rim width for a tyre, and anything outside is contrary to its policy and there fore deamed dangerous,
