I climbed that hill a few years back. Quite a climb, some great views and nice to see some snow when you get up the top.

Well done you 2! ;)

Ant hills with serious attitude...

They may not be very tall but all our hills have their toes very nearly at sea level. They also get far more precipitation than the Alps and thanks to their Maritime climate have a much more changeable and "interesting" climate.

Climbers come from all over the world to experience Scottish winter mountaineering, at least they did when we could be more certain of actually having a winter.

I was looking at doing the THREE PEAK Challenge last year. But chickened out, didn’t feel my fitness was upto all three in one go just yet.

I'm not a fan of challenge events. They encourage lots of people to overreach their abilities and concentrate a lot of erosion in a very limited area. Besides all 3 peaks offer tougher and more enjoyable challenges than following a gaggle up their respective tourist paths.

I've got lots of good tales about charity walkers lost in the dark on Scafell Pike or somewhere near that they thought was Scafell Pike!
