Yeah have tried that and the engine is as steady as, Im thinking it might have something to do with my gear box, but what!!!

I had a similar noise, replaced the subby mounts and also fitted a top engine steady (the one that goes from the thermostat housing to the bulk head, I think!) as my Mini never had one. This made loads of difference, so could be worth a shot?

..the front engine steady to the subframe..or the engine mounts.
Check them and replace were enecessary, i'd reccomend fitting an extra gearbox steady.

Out of interest have you got any play in your steering?
i had this problem and it turned out to be my steering rack.

Hi,

Yes i do have some play in my steering, it moves forwards and backwards slightly, but not up and down thank god! Im needing to fix this at i have the parts, but its finding the time.
