We'll see tomorrow when I put the seats back in :(
But it should be fine, my highly scientific method of wiggling a foot around suggested there's plenty of space still.

Looks like ive been beaten :P not only am im in the process of moving house but my head unit has gone wrong today too! luckily its still under warranty so should be fixed in a week or so.

The good news is that ive ordered my pair of JL audio subs and a pair of Rainbow coaxes for a bit of rear fill.

Congrates mate looks a good job.

If you ever need to take them down again put another nut on the other side of the bracket or tack weld it in postion so that it doesnt spin when your trying do the bolt up.

these are the dogs bush oisters (sorry admin)

Intresting, is there not an easier way then filler? i hate the stuff?

Im building some pods at the moment.

but its kind of a two speaker setup on each side, but with seperate chambers.

If you're painting them, then I think filler is the only way. Be prepared to spend hours sanding them down, every little dimple will show. With an extra day I probably could have got them to a show finish, but I got fed up with the sander! You could always cover them instead.

On mine i only used a skim of filler, the rest was made up of resin soaked fleece , once it was dry i painted more resin over the top.

Some people mix an equal amount of resin and filler to gether and then add both amounts of hardener (some times its called milkshake mix) its a bit easier to apply and give a smoother slightly harder finish.

Another trick with the sanding is to have a can of spray paint to hand, spray over a light mist, then when you sand you can see the high/low spots easyer.

You probably already new that, but i thought i'd add my early morning 2p.

Cheers! There was barely room for the width of my hand, and the drivers side was even worse!

here's a tip...use as little filler as possible. in my opinion, if too much filler is used for these pods, it's not as strong and is prone to possibly crack down the road.

to avoid this, form your pod with a polyester material. rather than applying the fb from the outside, apply it from the inside. this will help retain the original form and prevent any major dips and valleys that would require a large amount of filler.

in the event large amount of filler is needed, it's best to use a fb reinforced filler to prevent any cracks like kitty hair.
