hello,

i whas thinking of installing an spi engine in hte misses her van. possible it is don't doubt about that but the thing i'm thinking about is the fuel tank ? is it just so simple to cut a hole in the tank of the van to install the fuel pump of an spi tank ?

any idea's suggestions ?

Solder a return line onto the tank, or, 't' into the fuel line off the tank, for the return.

Use an external pump mounted on the subframe.

Then ther is no problem :)

When I did this conversion in my estate I used a metro turbo fuel pump running at 1bar and it worked perfectly well. You can pick them up for about £20 brand new if you look around.

You idealy want to mount the return line as high as possible if your bringing it back to the tank.

Also, if your using the original 2 clock dash you'll need to solder in a diode to stop the alternator backfeeding the ignition circuit, stopping you from turning the car off :) caused a bit of headscratching when it first happened to me :)

can i ask where did you mount youre fuel return line then ?

Sorry for the bad pic, but you get the idea. I did find through use, that the tank could have done with some more baffels in it
