That looks sweet! When i get my mini i might spray it myself now from seeing those results!! Is it a better finish than you'd get with cans ?

I'd recommend anyone to have a go at spraying themselves!
Just get all the right kit, take your time and it'll be good!
Much cheaper than taking it to a shop!

What are the specs of your compressor? I considered getting one, but can't shell out so much for a compressor, and am limited to rather small ones.

My compressor is:
50ltr Tank
9cfm Free-Air
14cfm (with motor running / Direct, not belt driven)
9Bar Max Working Pressure
£171 delivered.
--------------------------
Sealy Gravity Fed HVLP Gun
1.0mm Nozzle
£25 Delivered
--------------------------
SIP 1/4" BSP Hose
Rated 200psi
£20 Delivered
--------------------------
All new from ebay....
As for comparison to cans, i would say if u had the stuff above it must work out cheaper than cans.Considering cans only lay on thin layers.
I used a 2K (2 pack) paint, so it does not need booths, etc to go off as its done by chemical reactions.
NOTE: Jawel state at 20'c the paint takes 7hrs to cure. but at 60'c the paint takes 30mins to cure!!!!
So far i have used about 1 1/2 Ltrs to do everything except the flipfront, and thats including messing about with the gun learning to setup and messing up my first go...
All in all it took about a day to get to the confident level to spray that as it shows now.
The paint cost me £25 a ltr, but custom colours (i.e non-standard) are £30 a ltr.
Go for it, i highly recommend spraying it yourself. Biggest thing to modify on your mini that everyone recognises, and you cant go paying through the roof for someone else to do it. Thats just cheating! :tounge:
