You'll need one to use the DCD.

Personally, go for the cheap Minispares one, only £20-£25 or something, yet I found it just as good as a £80 Maniflow one.

I think so. Those budget LCBs with the weldet triangle don't flow good.
There are just 3 pipes, cut of and stuck into the triangle with large overhangs... They work somehow, sure.
But not as good as a manifold without the triangle. Buy one without and good. >_<

I find the decent LCBs will have had more development work as well. The flange will generally be the correct thickness, the branches will generally be port matched, or close, and they generally last longer.

What are these carbs capable of in terms of BHP? got 6-7  32/36, 28/36,... carbs laying here on the attic.... All from ford taunus, granada,... Collected by my dad at the local scrapjard when he was young ;D If they work better than a HS4 id have a look at a manifold because I am in need of a new manifold anyways :)

According to AC Dodd, a 28/36 would only just about work on a 1275, I think it would be restrictive on a modified 1275, same for the 32/34.

I'm sorry to ressurect this thread again guys.
But while I'm reading about DCD and DGV carbs on mini's ( mainly looking at howmuch carb to bonnet clearance there is. Looking at decreasing my noise levels in the car.) I came across this.
i'd like to question this statement because a DCD flows just a tad shy of what a HIF44 flows. ( According to vizards bible wich I have now :)).

I've often wondered this too, the kits are so cheap!
