Great post dklawson and I'm actually using one of those sump plug washers on my Mini. The bloke who carried out the heli-coil on my car recommended I switch to using them instead.


They are available direct from Halfords and their usually listed as Ford Mondeo sump plug washers. You can find them hanging on a shelf/clip amongst the sump plug spares.

They also fit like a glove over the Mini sump plug, so no twisting is necessary.

But is that an actual sump plug washer?

Plus it's about 4 times the price of what Halfords charge.
