Also my pump i think there is bits missing like theres a cylinder tube iam thinking theres soemthing missing from inside it

the compartments is where all substrate (filter stuff) go's e.g. carbon peat and other filtration ads go and you can diside what you put in there depending on what fish you wish to keep.
the pump looks like its all there? all it needs to do is pump water into one end of though compartments then the water will flow though and back into the thank. :P

any good? its hard to see whats going on from the pics

ill get soem more pics up so basically the pump will suck the water up then go into the next compartment which will have a certain filter in then it will go to the compartment which may also have another type of filter ? as i took a sliding bit of plastic out of one of the compartments with a sponge type thing on which i guess is the filter ?

so the pump is a whole different thing to the filter ?

I may well be wrong here but it looks to me like a tank designed for a marine setup. The pump appears to be attached to a protein skimmer (does the outer tube that fits over it slide up and down so it will always float just below the surface whatever the water level?) and the chambers at the back would be for the various stages of marine water filtration which is a lot more complex than for fresh water. A full flow fresh water filter, even if external would be far more compact than these chambers are for that size aqarium.

i think you could be right, what i would do is buy a new filter it would save a lot of messing about.
