I started my mpi for the first time in a few weeks this evening and it seemed a little rough but idled and revved ok. Anyway, after about 5 mins I checked under the car to make sure everything was ok and noticed part of the cat was glowing, with the pipe after the cat also glowing red. This was accompanied by smoke!

I presume this shouldnt be doing this but any ideas why it is??

Think I have just answered my own question on this - The connector to the camshaft position sensor had come off somehow (possibly when I took off the timing cover). Anyway, its back on now and seems to be running much better apart from the downpipe is blowing slightly.
