hi all,
im in maidstone, kent, have a trailer and have stripped the car and given a coat of primer before realising just how much you have to put into a spray job.
i now feel out of my depth and do not have funds to get it completed at a bodyshop.
I have had bodyshop's look at the car and they say the work that i have done on the car is good, but i just dont want to end up at square one again if i mess the paint up.
does anyone fancy earning some cash?
would like the car Old English White with the black roof and arches.
i have the gloss black and the thinners.
this is purely a prep and paint, no putting the car back together, no collection no delivery.
Price i had in mind was £500 - £600 ?
Any comments would be much appreciated.
Many Thanks

For that money you could buy yourself a compressor / gun kit and do a decent job yourself if you have a garage.
Or - just shop around and be creative... I found a paint shop near me (Birmingham) who did a top notch job on one
of my old cars by giving it to the trainee for the weekend as his first 'solo' project. He was so keen
to impress the boss that he did a seriosuly good job on the car and it cost me the price of the materials (£80 and the risk....)
But it was always going to look better "after" than "before".
You can also temporarily 'donate' your car to the local college for their paint training sessions.
My advice - buy a compressor from eBay and do it yourself.
Next time I need a paint job I'll definitely do this.
Also check (and maybe join and post a few questions) on this forum:
http://www.detailingworld.co.uk/
It's for detailers and they are obsessive about paint, finish, gloss, the way rain drops form on paint - fully obsessed people : )
You'll get some good advice about either a DIY job or a local place to you.
Best wishes
