Halfords dont they sell bikes and camping rubbish?
Are they trying to turn themselves into a motor factor.
you local factor should be cheaper than Halfords, old lencos in Tunbridge wells used to be years ago, and if you speak to the people nicely and pay cash you will get a discount as well

I've got one, I just asked nicely for it! You get a decent amount off the pro tools as well, which is very useful.

By the way do you have any inside info in to what the best deals are ?
Its a bit of a ball ache not knowing until your at the till.

The best part of trade cards is that i get one for working there :o

The best discounts are basically on the stuff halfords makes most profits on.

Oil/Air/Fuel filters are very cheap (about £1 for a mini oil filter compared to nearly a fiver RRP)
Wiper blades are very cheap (A set 16 set of wiper blades for a mondeo are usually £15 but on trade are about £6)
Batteries are really good about 50-60% discount on those!
Bulbs are great (about 50p for brake bulbs etc compared to £2.50 RRP)

Heres a little list i found that has some examples of trade prices. You can see that the branded stuff doesn't get that much discount whereas the halfords stuff tends to get great discounts.

I wandered in with my Ford ID, and picked one up.

They manage to beat my local motor factors on things like bulbs, but that's the point I guess, keep the trade happy and the 'normal' punters will go there anyway...
