Hey all,

Thought i'd renew the front discs, pads and hoses for goodridge braided ones. All done and on the car after a LOT of messing about trying to get the old hoses off the brake pipes - a very aqward job!

Put the "eezeebleed" kit on and its supposed to run off the pressure form a spare tyre, but no more than 20psi... Hooked it up and all it does is shoot its cap off the top of the brake resevoir and get bloomin fluid everywhere ARGH! There was hardly any pressure in the tyre either!!!

Annoyed as i can only work on the mini at weekends and i'm busy for the next two so thats another 3 weeks of "Wanda" off the road!

Moral of the storey is DO NOT BUY AN EEZEEBLEED KIT! lol!

Rant over,

Matt.

Umm did you use the correct sized cap? My kit came with a few different sized ones?

Also i found that i had to tighten the nut that gets the pipe connected to the cap as it was very loose?

Hindsights a wonderful thing but its best to pressure test the eezibleed with no fluid first.

Yep did as it says, also tried both caps that appeared to be about the same size and made no difference... ;D

I did the exact same thing last week ! the cap blew off and sprayed my mini, the driveway and the Mrs brand new vectra with brake fluid.
I had the right cap on but I had to lower the pressure to less than 10 psi or it leaked everywhere or blew the cap off.
Blooming nightmare but persiveered and got there in the end.

Yeah i sort of had it going for about a minute but there was hardly any pressure in the tyre. Its a bit annoying if i have to keep connecting a footpump for 3 or 4 "pumps" and then re-connecting the bleed kit air feed etc etc... Yeah i tried both caps and they were on secure, straight and had their rubber seal in place!

As far as I know the standard caps that come with an Easy-bleed don't fit a Mini and you need to send off for one of the other caps they make.

Think it depends where you get your kit from. I got mine form Moss and it came with about 5 or 6 caps and one of them was spot on! :turtle:
