I think I only spoke to shiftyseamus, am still amazed that you remembered I had the Spi estate

I did smile at people, but no-one seemed to want to speak to us.

I did find it funny when I came back from signing on and my wife was really annoyed. I asked her why and apperently someone(maybe wolfy) made some comment about a ladys assets and how lucky the baby was to *ahem*enjoy them

Sorry if it wasn't you Wolfy :P

Hey hey MB thank you for the parade lap pass, we passed it on to our lord and master Charlie B :gimme: It was nice to meet you :)

I found it quite strange that lots of folks recognised me and Vern (but in most cases I didn't crack on to who they were very quickly sorry) but at the same time it was so nice to meet lots of new faces, putting them to names and seeing our good friends again too. This weekend has been utterly stonking :D

Major B - I tried to keep an eye out for you but there was so many people walking around that its difficult to recognise people, coupled with the fact I don't know what you look like - sorry that you felt like no-one wanted to say hi, that wasn't true at all.

To everyone bashing the BMW Mini that crashed - please spare a thought for the driver who is currently unconscious in a Swindon hospital and is a good friend of several members on here - I suggest you think a bit more before posting such insensitive remarks.

And yeah, apart from the crash it was a great day, loads of people there and some really nice Mini's, as always :P

Tom

I hope he is ok we were waiting in the pits when it happened. We saw the car came past on the trailer and everyone just assumed he was ok, probably because we were due to go out.

Serves them right really by buying a Bini and trying to fit in with the original Minis.

Pathetic. A Bini is NOT a Mini.

Every forums has to have its loosers! Luckily this one shouted who he was........ Maybe its time to start on the all Metros and other weird things that were there too. Mini or MINI who cares?? most clubs have moved on from such silly differences.

Hope everyone else had a good time and the oil didnt put too many people off driving how they wanted. I know I didnt slow down for it but then it was off my racing line so it was fine. A little hairy at 120mph braking over avon rise though!

i have some footage of the bini doing a 360 infront of the pit lane and slamming into the barriers by the club stands, also the car that dumped a load of oil onto the track which caused the crash,10 out of 10 for the castle coombe marshals for stoping the session as soon as the oil was dumped on track.........NOT!
myself and mini cb got there at 8 on the dot,had a go at parking on the soggy, bumpy grass strip that was the club stand, after 10 minutes grounding my car gave up and parked on the hard standing by the traders,a big thankyou to purple tom for organizing the tickets, tmf stand and track passes ( at heavily discounted price ) thanks mate.

was the racing totally canned after that?

Nope, they got an array of support vehicles - ambulance, tow truck, safety cars etc. then cleaned the mess up and restarted. I didn't know about the oil, I'd assumed it was lift off oversteer but thought it was a strange place to lose control.

Nope, not oil. I blame my wife.
She said "It's amazing that there aren't more accidents."
Within thirty seconds, the Bini is spinning right in front of us...

(I'd actually assumed it was either lifting off at the wrong moment or touching the brake with a size 10 boot...)

Here are my pictures of the spin. They're not great, but hey.

HI COULD YOU EMAIL PICTURES TO ME PLEASE AS I DONT REMEMBER MUCH, [email protected] ,GOT STIFF NECK AND BACK BUT OK CARS NOT VERY WELL GOING TO NEED BIG WALLET TO MEND IT.MANY THANS KEVIN PALMER

Yes we enjoyed the day very much too and the parade laps at the end were fantastic.

The BINI comment was a bit strong and I'm glad the bloke is making a recovery, but I have to say that I'd rather see only proper Minis at Combe instead of BINIs or Metro's.

But then we're all entitled to our opinions?
