Probably the price of living in Manchester (coming from someone raised in the southern suburbs!)

Cant argue with that at all!

My best quote (From a mini insurer) :

Mini Sprite 1.3i Automatic
Group 4
All standard
1995 N reg...

Im 17, No convictions. Ive done my pass plus...

They wanted £1750 TPFT...

I eventually got insured as a named driver on my dads insurance for £650. Which was better...

That was Fully comp too.

in similar circumstances im 18 and as a named driver fully comp with Co-op it cost £590 and is dropping for my 1275 cooper

Trick is, tell Miniworld that you have another Mini that you are doing up. Get one that is a basket case, and your aim is to get it to classic condition. They then give you a Classic insurance policy, like mine
because I had a classic as my 1st car too, they knew that I was appreciating it as a classic, not because it was cheap!
To qualify for the mag and show discounts, you may need to have this classic policy. You need to buy them every month, ideally subscribe altho I dont, and go to a few shows at least really. Thats what I said, and the figure came down when I told them about the alloys and flipfront!
