Whats the best way to go about doing it so that it looks good, and doesnt crack or look stupid?
Sand it back a little, maybe even to bare metal. Then go for filler or fibreglass? And then sand it back and filler it til its smooth, then primer and paint?
Did a little search but I never seem to find what I want when I use it.....

ill get some of myn 2moro and show ya!!!!! its anoyin and time cosuming!! i welded a plate over the numberplate bit and then filled it but im now trying on my other boot hammering it out and then filling it!I've got hold of a spare bootlid so that I can have a go at making a smooth boot without ruining my original one (in case I dont like it).

But using your imagination, does this look ok?

I think I like it, but its a lot of time and effort for what might just look pants in the end. If you think I shouldnt go for this look, what do you think about a chrome number plate light cover and hinges instead?

Not sure if I've lost the plot altogether this time, but what about double deckered chrome bumpers front and back to hold the number plate?

Haha
interesting idea, depends what kind of a look you want for the car! You'd have to mount the second one under the current one, or the boot wouldn't open. Might look a little "funny".

Well it's not chrome but it is a "double deckered" bumper and should take a number plate recess. Personally i like the look of a smooth bootlid. As with all things mini, try it and see what it looks like, can always be changed back to standard if you don't like the look of it on your own car.
