My brother in law has recently broken a vectra and asked me if i wanted any bits off. The term " Yeah!" was used and off i went to bristol for the weekend with a boot load of tools. I knicked lots of stuff but most interesting item was the electric windows and switches.
I thought it would be a long drawn out process of butchering the new setup to work in the mini and so I left it for a few months til I had some time. Last weekend I finally got of my arse and started. It only took bout an hour and a half or so to get functioning electric windows. So here goes!........

Then I got bored and decided to see how the cog fitted into the motor

Drilled a 8mm hole through where the shaft of the drive gear of the handle drive was!
through this bit
This is to take the bigger drive shaft of the motor drivey bit (the bit with the cog on )
Drilled holes to secure the motor to the winding. Stuck the motor on, took it off again and then redrilled the holes in the right place!.. And then screwed it down.
and the other side

Now i didn't have a vectra bible to hand so another bit of headscratching!!!!
Having winged a few electrical jobs in my time, and not yet started a fire.... yet!
I came up with this. Red wire - Live (easy!)
Brown Wire - earth (EASIER!)
Brown / Black - ?????
Blue/ Red - ?????
Grey / Green - ?????
the other three have to be the control and luckily i thought to pinch the switches from the vectra as well. 10 mins with the fluke revealed that the brown/black was a common and the other to had to be connected up to this and that controlled up and down
The TEST!!!!

OOOOHHHH happy days!! me it works. A little juddery, but i put that down to the drive gear on the motor being slightly bigger than the handle drive.
The best thing about this is that once back on the car
All that is needed is a live to the motor. The control switches can be mounted to the door cards (once built!! )
So that is It guys and girls...
Hope you like
I will put up the pictures of the door cards when I have built them (probably bout another 3 months!!)
