:(

Gotta save up for a subby now! After looking into it i now CBA to make my own. Much easier to buy a tried and tested bit of kit from Allspeed. So as soon as the subby arrives, stuff will start to happen

Just got me some R1 TB's off the old eBay, which made me think about how i want to control the engine management. Looked into MS but have a headache from reading all the info available >_<

Thats what i thought too. I read the megamanual a few times and i think i understand it a little more. It looks a little daunting at first, but if you do a bit of research it doesnt look too difficult to get the engine running. The plus side of megasquirt, you can use all the original vauxhall sensors.

Any ideas how the ignition side of things works Mike? I know it can work with the EDIS system, but i dont really want to add another trigger wheel and sensor if possible.

You dont need edis with the vauxhall. The megasquirt has an inbuilt parameter in it, that allows you to run the original vauxhall crank sensor. All you would need to do is decide if you wanted to go for the hall effect dizzy off an earlier XE or the later Dispac coilpack. Personally im going the dispac route.

Yup, seeing as i have the later coilpack system, I'd like to go with that to be honest. Cheers for that >_< Wont ask anymore questions till I've done some more reading

Have a look here mate, quite a useful topic i found and they seem to be willing to help if you've got any questions. It looks really long, but i tried to understand a bit at a time and it seemed to make sense.

Will look into it when i have time :(

Got an inlet manifold sorted just now. Need to source some trumpets for the TB's though - dont know if i can raid something else for them, as it looks like what little trumpet things they have as standard are built into the R1 airbox.
