No more mini .
Head gasket went, cracked head between 1&2. Really CBA with it anymore so its coming off the road. Looking for a cheap run around for a year, then ill go at the mini with some decent cash, get it sprayed and get the XE in.
Bad times, but would rather do that than spend more money on fixing it and fannying about every weekend.

That's a shame
At least it will be done to a high standard in the end. Don't give up on it!

Plans are to bodge a 1275 head on tomorrow to get it running. Probably wont mean coming off the road, but if i can get it going for free then thats not a bad thing!!
Also was cheered up a bit today. Looked at the XE pistons today in a bit more detail, and they turned out to be the superior forged items! Means I've pretty much got a decent base engine to tune now, with early light crank, light flywheel, forged pistons and later tensioning system. Need to ring SBD up sometime soon and see about some metal idler pulleys. The standard items are cheap plastic crap that tend to explode when you least need it. Result = lots of bent valves and chunks out of pistons.

That car just winds me up so much though!!!!! . Al is looking for a better head for me, but in the meantime i literally have nailed on a 1275 head. Its not pretty, its not perfect - but it works!!!! (in a fashion) Just need to remember to top the water up every 10 miles!!!
